End of November 2015

Hey guys!

So it's the end of November which can only mean one thing.

25 days until Christmas!

I'm so excited and I've actually done all my Christmas shopping for my family already.
They are all wrapped and ready to go.

I can't wait to open my advent calender tomorrow.

I love this time of year and the build up to Christmas.

Wearing Christmas jumpers.

Listening to Christmas carols.

Hot chocolate. Party food.

I love it so much.

Anyway, as you may have just seen I'm planning on continuing to post every day on my blog by doing a December photo challenge. I thought it will be fun and I'm planning on also making a blog post twice a week.
I'll try to anyway. I've actually got assessment deadlines coming up to.

Oh well. At least I have Christmas to look forward too.

Anyway, that's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with the first photo of the December Photo Challenge.

Bye guys!
I love you all.

December Photo Challenge 2015

Hey guys!

As I like the idea of posting everyday I've decided I'm going to do a December Photo Challenge where I have to post a photo everyday until the end of December.

Here is the photo challenge I found. I did not create this myself but I thought it would be fun to do.
If you're a blogger and have run out of ideas, do a December photo challenge. You don't have to do this particular one. You can search for others or create your own.

Beside this photo challenge I will be posting other blog posts twice a week.

To get updates on when I make a post you can follow me on Blogloving by clicking the link here:

Or you can follow my Twitter where I always announce when a new post is up by clicking on this link:

Feel free to also follow my instagram:
@MeganIvyT

Anyway, that's it from me.
I'll be back tomorrow with the first photo of December. Plus expect another post tomorrow.

See you then guys.

What I ate today + Christmas Decorations Haul

Breakfast:

For breakfast I decided to make a bacon bagel. It was really quick and easy to do. I just fried the bacon and put the bagel in the toaster. It was delicious. Bacon is a great thing to have in your fridge if you're a student.
I also had a gingerbread latte as I was in the festive mood and it's so nice.

Now, I didn't really eat anything for lunch because I had a late breakfast today. Also, I was out at my local supermarket buying the remaining of Christmas presents I had to get and I also bought some Christmas decorations for my uni room.

I bought all of these from the 99p store and I thought they were a bargain. The Chritmas tree is small but I thought it was cute to sit on my windowsill and it meant I could have a Christmas tree in my room. It was plain at first but I bought some red tinsel which was really long in length so I little bits of it to put on the tree just so it didn't look boring. I then used the remaining tinsel to put on my window. I also bought a stocking to hang on my door which says 'It's the most wonderful time of the year'. I thought this was cute as usually back at home I used to hang on my door. Finally I bought some star fairy lights. In halls you're not allowed plug in fairy lights so these are battery powered and they look cute in my room. So if you're looking for some cheap decorations, I'd recommend the 99p store.

Anyway, for dinner I cooked popcorn chicken and fries with some BBQ sauce. As you know these were in my Asda haul except the BBQ sauce but I bought that from Asda ages ago. It was really quick and easy to cook this. The popcorn chicken takes only 15 minutes and the microwavable fries takes 2 minutes and 45 seconds. It was delicious.

For desert I had a Blackberry Shape yoghurt as it's healthy and low in fat. I also had a strawberry milkshake as you may be able to tell.

Would You Rather Beauty Tag!

1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up?
I'd rather nice hair and no make-up.

2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
I'd rather shave my eyebrows. At least I can draw in fake ones until they grow back.

3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
I'd rather be forced to shop at only MAC for the rest of my life.

4. Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner or 80's perm?
I'd rather wear lipgloss/lipliner.

5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush?
Ooh they're both bad but I'd rather have an obvious foundation line.

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
I'd rather wear biker shorts in public.

7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered?
I'd rather have really weird tan lines that can't be covered.

8. Would you rather have a bad haircut or bad hair colour?
I'd rather have a bad hair cut. I'll cover it with a hat.

9. Would you rather have YouTube or Twitter taken away forever?
Oh that's so hard. I love them both. I love Twitter because I've made good friends but I'll have to say I'd rather taken Twitter taken away forever than YouTube.

10. Would you rather give up using make up brushes or mascara?
I'd rather give up mascara.

I tag anyone who wants to do this tag.

That's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

Bye guys!
I love you all.

Pros and cons of moving away for university

Hey guys!

As it is November, I have a feeling a lot of you are looking to apply for university. I remember a year ago I was the same. I had an idea what I wanted to do which was advertising and someone told me about a course at the University Of Chester so I just kind of went by what they said and applied there. It was a combined course so I chose to do media studies because I thought it would make sense.

Anyway, I'm kind of going off topic but the point is some of you may find a course that's at a university away from home. I also bet some of you thinking about what it might be like moving away from your parents and having to fend for yourself. Let me just tell you. It will be scary at first but most of you are probably already independent and spend most of your time in your bedrooms rather than hanging out with your parents. I was the same. I liked it when I was home alone. I just relied on my mum to do my washing and cook me food sometimes. So it won't be so different when you move away from home for uni. It's the same except you have to do your washing, cooking and shopping plus your parents are only a phone call away.

There's a lot of pros and cons to moving away from home for university and I'm going to tell them to you.

Pros

1. Freedom
One of the best things about moving away from home is that your free from your parents nagging you all the time. You can make your own choices without worrying what your parents might think.

2. Making New Friends
You'll also be able to make new friends. Just on the first day, even if you're shy, just try to attempt to introduce yourself around your hall or flat. You'd be surprised. You might end up meeting your entire hall on the first day. That's what happened to me.

3. Buy whatever you want for groceries
Seriously. You can literally get all the things your parents never got you in the food shop. Just try to budget yourself though and don't go overspending.

4. Learning life skills and becoming an adult
Now one of the reasons why I wanted to move away from home for uni is because I could actually learn how to be an adult. You can do your own cooking, cleaning and laundry. Before I left I had never done the laundry. I barely ever cooked anything and I hardly ever did any cleaning. Look at me now. I do the laundry every week. I've started to cook meals for myself instead of using the microwave and I like to clean my room and wash the dishes because I hate mess. It's one of those things you realise when you move away from home that you have to do it. You're basically teaching yourself to become an adult, ready for when you're in the real world.

Cons

1. Homesickness
Now, moving away from home for the first time. You're bound to me homesick within the first few weeks and it may be hard for you to visit your parents on weekends because they live three hours away. Even if during Freshers you feel happy and you're having a good time. Trust me when the work starts that's when you may get homesick. I didn't think I would but I did. Just remember though your parents are a phone call away so if you need them. Just phone them

2. Lonelyness
There may be times when you'll be alone in your room because everyone else is either busy doing assessments or making plans with other people. It will happen but don't worry. Just keep yourself busy. Try to do an assignment or watch a movie or read a book. Just do something to take your mind off it. It'll be alright. There's going to be times when you're having fun with your friends or just hanging out with other people.

3. Messy hall mates
Unfortunately you may have to deal with messy hall mates who leave the shared kitchen or bathroom a mess. It can be hard and there have been times where I've actually been sick just because of the mess. It can be gross and sadly I haven't dealt with it but that's because eventually the mess will be cleaned up. However, if it does happen try leaving a note maybe or just go to another kitchen to wash your stuff up. But yeah it will happen, just try not to be the messy hall mate yourself and respect the fact that you live with other people and you share the same kitchen and bathroom.

4. Cooking/doing laundry for yourself
Believe it or not you're going to have to cook for yourself and do some laundry. You can try going through a term without doing laundry but trust me it won't work. It's pretty simple and if you need help just ask someone. There's also usually signs in the launderette about how to do it anyway. With cooking, I know you'll probably using the microwave a lot but try to use the oven. You can make some great meals like pasta and sauce or stir fry. Even cooking food in the oven is simple. You just stick it then wait for a certain amount of time then it'll be done. Simple.

Anyway, that's all I have to say about the pros and cons of moving away for university. There's probably some others but these are kind of the main ones.

I'll be back soon with another post.

Bye guys.
I love you all.

Student Grocery Haul!

Hey guys!

So I went shopping for groceries today and I thought I'd show you what I got just to give some of you ideas of what to get if your student.

First off I went to Asda and I kind of do the opposite to what most people do. I go to the frozen section first and then work my way backwards. I do this because I'm trying to cook more rather than microwave things so I look for frozen stuff. Plus it saves me having to walk from one end of the shop to the other for when I need to pay. I always use the self checkout.

Here we go:

First I bought some popcorn chicken because I like popcorn chicken and this was only a £1 so I thought that it was a good price. I also know that these won't take that long to cook.

I always get these fries because you can put them in the microwave and they also taste really nice. They're really quick and easy to make. It's also good for a snack or with something.

I also got a big bag of chicken nuggets because again these are easy to make as you just put them in the oven and they don't take that long. Plus there's quite a few in there so it'll last a while.

I got a Weight Watchers Chicken Tikka Masala because it doesn't have a lot of calories and sometimes I'll have days where I can't be bothered to cook so I can just microwave this.

An essential for me is a pint of milk. It's good for cereal, tea, coffees and other stuff. It lasts me a week and as it's just me I'm buying for. A pint is all I need.

Now while I go out shopping for groceries I like to treat myself and I saw this. I've had Crusha milkshake mix before and so I thought I'd buy it just to treat myself to some strawberry milkshake.

Now I bought a packet like this except it was a colourful vegetable stir fry and I really liked it when I made it stir fry the other day so I thought I would do something different and get the mushroom stir fry. Stir fries are really quick and easy to do and you can make them however you like.

Now with stir fries I like to have noodles in them so I bought these last time and I decided to buy them again. They're really simple to make. You just put it in the microwave and then once you've fried your veg just mix them together and there you go.

As you know from my Cosy Night In post I made pasta and sauce. I used the tomato and basil sauce so I thought I would buy the same sauce again and because there was a deal I bought the bolognese sauce too.

Finally, the last thing I got from Asda was this jar which was only a £1. I thought I could use this to store biscuits in.

Now, walking back from Asda I realised I forgot a few things so I dropped all the stuff I bought at Asda in my hall of residence then I walked down the road to Co Op. If you're wondering Asda is like a fifteen minute walk whereas Co Op is just down the road from my uni and takes five minutes to walk there.

So the first thing I got was some Bourbon Cream biscuits because I fancied getting some biscuits because I like dunking them in my tea or coffee. I also bought that jar from Asda so I had a place to keep them too.

Next I bought some bagels because I really like having bagels. They taste so good when they're toasted.

I also bought some M&M's because I thought I might treat myself and it's been a while since I've had M&M's.

Now I did a really silly thing and forgot to buy pasta from Asda. I bought the pasta sauce but I had no pasta to use it with so I had to go buy some from Co Op.

I also had no ham or chicken in my fridge so I needed to get some and I bought these two because there was a deal and the others were expensive.

I bought a bag of sugar because I'm running low on the last bag I bought.

I also bought some Hula Hoops as I like having crisps because it's a quick snack and also these were only a £1.

Finally I bought some laundry tablets as I'm a student now and I have to do my own laundry. I also really like this brand as it makes my clothes smell like lavender and it's really nice.

Anyway, that's it from me. I hope you enjoyed this post and gave you an idea of what you could buy if you're a student. I'll be back soon with another post.

See you later guys.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hey guys!

So I do believe it's Thanksgiving today. I don't exactly celebrate it because it's not a big holiday thing in the UK but I still acknowledge it and think of all the things I am thankful for.

Anyway, I thought I will share with you all the things I am thankful for
Here we go:

My family
My family are the most important people in my life. Especially my mum, dad and brother. They mean so much to me and have always been supportive of what I do. I feel so lucky to have the family that I do because we have so many great memories and even though my dad and mum don't live together any more, they still care a lot about me and my brother. I'm very thankful to have my older brother because we've done everything together and we've had so many good times. Even though we're older now and live only half an hour away from each other. I can always go and visit him whenever I like.

My friends
I'm thankful to all the friends I have had in my life and my current friends. They have been amazing and most of them have made me the person I am today. I've had so many great memories from my childhood to my teenage years with some amazing friends who I'll always remember.

That's about it. I can't think of anything to top family and friends, but in all honesty I'm grateful to have my family and friends. They've been amazing and made me who I am today.

I've also got to say that I'm thankful to all of you guys. The other day I got over 100 views and that made me feel so happy because that's the first time I've reached 100 views in one day. So thank you to all of you that read my blog or are reading right. You're amazing.

Anyway, that's it from me for this post. I'll be back soon with another.

See you late guys.

Primark Haul

Hey guys!

So I went to Chester again the other day and I couldn't resist going into Primark.
I bought a few things there so let's get on with this post.

The first thing I picked up was this pinkish lipstick that only cost 80p. I thought it was a bargain and I was in need of a new lipstick. I have yet to try it but hopefully it'll do the trick.

The next thing I bought was this blusher brush which only costed £1.50. I was in need of a new blusher brush and when I saw this I thought I may as well buy it.

I also bought this little black cross body bag. I thought it would look good on nights out and it was quite cheap too.

Next, I bought these black jeggings. I realised I haven't got any black trousers and I thought these will be perfect for nights out. I also like wearing jeggings.

Finally, probably one of the best things I ever bought. This Hakuna Matata jumper. I bought this as yesterday the bar was having a Disney theme night. I also thought this was cute and I would wear it all the time.

Here's me wearing the jumper and the jeggings. They were really comfortable and I really liked them.

Anyway, that's it from me. Expect more posts today as you may have noticed I have been lacking. That's because I went travelling to Chester then Liverpool and I just didn't really have time to make a post.

But that's okay because you'll get more posts today.

Yay!

So see you later guys.

The British Tag

Hey guys!

So I was looking up some tags I could do for my blog and I found the British Tag. I thought this is relevant to me as I am British and I have lived in the UK for my whole entire life. I also thought it would be fun.

Anyway, let's get on with the questions.

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?
2/3 teas a day and I have two sugars in them. I also like them nice and strong. Not milky.

2. Favourite part of your roast?
Roast potatoes or the Yorkshire puddings.

3. Favourite dunking biscuit?
Chocolate Bourbons. I love dipping them in my tea or coffee.

4. Favourite quintessentially British pasttime?
Fish and chips (without the fish part) by the sea or afternoon tea.

5. Favourite word?
Presto!

6. Cockney rhyme slang?
I don't really know as I don't use cockney rhyme slang.

7. Favourite sweet?
Midget gems or toffee bon bons.

8. What would your pub be called?
The Pub

9. No. 1 British person?
Emma Watson. She is goals.

10. Favourite shop/restaurant?
Primark or Toby Carvery

11. What British song pops into your head?
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen

12. Marmite?
Ew no. I hate it.

That's all the questions. I tag anyone who is out of blog ideas or just wanted to do a tag post.

I'll be back tomorrow with another post.
Bye guys.
I love you all.

Cosy Night In

I just love having cosy nights in where I can lie on my bed in my PJs or comfy clothes and just relax.

I'm having one of those nights tonight and I thought I would share with you what I'm doing.

Earlier I made some pasta and then added some Tomato and Basil pasta sauce to it. I ate some of it for lunch then stored it in my fridge. Later on, I reheated it and had it for dinner. It was so tasty and it was quick to do.

While eating that I'm watching one of my favourite movies. Mrs Doubtfire.

Also, I recently bought this limited edition Nescafe Gingerbread Latte. It tastes and smells so good. It's also cheaper than buying it from Starbucks. It's also slowly putting me in the festive mood.

And of course I like to wear my slippers while laying bed because they are so comfy.

My Everyday Makeup for Uni

Usually when I go into uni everyday, I like to put a bit of make up. I don't go overboard with it. I just keep it simple. The natural the better because there may be days where you just can't be bothered to put on make up and some people may not even notice a difference. Trust me. People will want to see the real you rather than you hiding your face behind a mask of make up. I'm going to show you what make up I like to put on everyday or when I can be bothered to put make up on for uni.

Collection Concealer
I tend to put this under the dark circles under my eyes and on any spots/blemishes I may have just to cover them up. I always end up buying this product mostly because it's cheap but it's also good in my opinion.

Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder
I don't use foundation any more and I'm kind of glad I don't. It just takes effort to make it look okay. I just use this powder after I used concealer. I feel like it helps my face feel good and I just love using a fluffy brush over my face. A tip would be for when you come to the parts you've put concealer on, use a small brush to put the powder over them. I think it works when you're trying to cover up your dark circles or your spots/blemishes.

W7 Naked Nudes eyeshadow palette
I really like this eye shadow palette as it's simple colours and it looks natural. I sometimes mix and match the colours. I put the darker shade of brown on first then I put the lighter one over it and finally I'll either put the white or nude colour over that on the bottom of the lid.

Collection colour lash, all day colour mascara in black
I love this mascara. It's simple. It barely smudges and it's affordable. I always end up repurchasing it.

Collection Blush Cheeky
I've had this blush for a while now and it's perfect for adding a touch of pink to my cheeks.

Pepsi Cherry Lip Balm
As you know from previous posts I absolutely love this lip balm. It's my favourite and it's great because it keeps my lips moisturised and it adds a little colour to them.

Anyway, that's it from me. Stay tuned for another post today as this post was supposed to be posted yesterday but I forgot. Sorry, but the good news is that they'll be another post too.

Byes guys.
I love you all.

First Assessment Complete

Hey guys!

So today I had my first assessment which was a presentation. I had to do a presentation on my own in front of my lecturer and a camera.

I was so nervous when I woke up. I couldn't eat anything, but I did eat Belvita breakfast biscuits and had a cup of tea.

I spent the morning practising what I was going to say and going through each of my PowerPoint slides.

Then it was time and I walked into the room. As expected there was the lecturer and a camera.

I guess it wasn't so bad as it was only in front of my lecturer.

He chatted to me before I started asking how I was and basically just let me set up my PowerPoint.

Then when I was ready, he turned on the camera and I began my presentation.

It went well. I said everything I needed to say. I had my note cards and I barely looked at them, although I did have a computer screen which I occasionally glanced at and I stumbled over some words.

After it was over I felt relieved. It went by fast and I felt really happy to have it done.

So yeah, I've done my first assessment. I'm not even going to think about how well I did, I just need to focus now on my other assessments.

Anyway, that's all from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

Bye guys.
I love you all.

Hiding From Assignments

Hey guys!

So, I just wanted to talk about hiding from life.

What I mean by this is basically getting away from things that stress you out like due dates for assignments, over thinking stuff that's going on.

I know some things are important like assignments but it's not good to be stressed over them.

Just give yourself little breaks and get away from it.

Don't hide in your bedroom or in your bed.

Go outside and go for a walk.

Do some laundry.

Put something else on your mind for a little bit to escape reality.

And just take little steps to get it done.

Just do a page of an essay a day.

You'll get it done eventually.

Just don't leave it until last minute.

The biggest tip which I discovered only recently is talk to your lecturer.

That is something I did not do for a while and I basically just kept over-thinking that I was going to fail one particular assignment. I wanted to drop out and I didn't want to become a failure.

And so I ran away to my home and to my family.

I had a chat with them and they soon realised that I hadn't even spoken to my lecturer or my Personal Academic Tutor about any of this.

I'm kind of shy person and don't like talking to teachers.

However, there was nothing to be afraid of. I did talk to them in the end. They asked what the problem was and helped me solve it. Now I'm feeling more confident about this assignment.

So this is my advice from you, remember to take breaks if you're getting stressed out from assignments but also talk to your lecturers. They are there to help you get your degree.

I hope this advice was helpful and you enjoyed my rambling.

Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

Bye guys.
I love you all.

Pray for the World

It's really sad when you hear terrible stuff happening on the news.

I'm sending my hope and prayers to all the victims and the people that were affected by any of this.

It's hard to imagine anybody could do something like this.

It really is awful and nobody deserves anything like this.

Especially innocent people.

I just hope everything will be okay.

However, on a lighter side it's great to see how much support the world can give to all these people.

It just goes to show we can be united in a crisis.

I do not own this image but just in case you didn't know what was going on.

My Winter Essentials

1. Blankets/Dressing Gowns
During the evenings it tends to get colder and as I've discovered in the North West of England it can get very cold in the evening. So being snuggled up in a blanket or my dressing gown really helps.

2. Slippers/Cosy socks
Now walking around halls, you need to put something on your feet and wearing trainers or slip on shoes is not the same as wearing comfy slippers. Also when you're in your bedroom, wearing cosy socks keep your feet nice and warm and cosy.

3. Hot water bottle
They are handy to put in your bed at night to keep it warm. There's nothing like getting into bed at night and having it being warm.

4. Hot chocolate
It's a must during the winter. Drinking hot chocolate while watching a Christmas movie is the best.

5. Advent calender
Having an advent calender gets me excited for Christmas and getting to eat chocolate every day is great.

6. Jumpers/Hoodies
Wearing jumpers and hoodies are a must. They keep you warm during the day. Also wearing layers of clothing keeps you warm so jumpers are good for that.

7. Pyjamas/Onesies
During the winter nights wearing your cosy PJs or onesies is nice. It feels warm and cosy. It's one of the things I get excited about when it comes to the end of the day and I get to put on my PJs.

What are your winter essentials? Maybe you have one that I didn't say.

Well, I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

Bye guys!
I love you all.

Chester Haul

Hey guys!

So today I went to Chester today to visit the cathedral. It's so beautiful there.

After I went there I went around the shops again.

I first went to The Body Shop and bought the Frosted Cranberry shower gel. I bought this because I was almost running out of my strawberry shower gel from The Body Shop.

After going to the Body Shop, I went to Wilko's and I bought this plastic pot. I bought it for my Uni room to put my toothbrush and toothpaste in.

I also bought this stainless steal travel mug because I needed a travel mug with a lid that closes.

Finally, I went to Primark because I couldn't resist. I bought these Harry Potter slippers because I was in need of some slippers and I thought these were cute. They're also really comfortable.

I also bought this purse because I wanted a new purse and I liked this one as I thought it was nice.

Well, that's all from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

Bye guys!
I love you all.
