Last post of 2015

Image
Hey guys! So it's finally the last day of 2015. It's been an interesting year full of highs and lows. I suppose the biggest thing that happened for me was I got three A Levels and the Welsh Baccalaureate which meant getting accepted into the University of Chester.  I've also met new people and done loads of different things. I also finished school and moved away from home to go to uni. The best part is that I can look back at all the posts I made in 2015 and see most of the stuff I did. That's the best part of having a blog. Making memories into a post. I also looked back to last year where I said I was going to post more and I did. I love blogging because I can literally blog about anything. I'm going to continue to blog into 2016 and try to post more regularly than usual so you may be seeing a lot of posts from me. I hope to make 2016 the best year ever. I kind of say this every year but really every year should be the best one yet.

What's in my toiletry bag?

Image
Hey guys! So this is the second post I'm doing travel related and it's probably one of the most important things to have when travelling. A toiletry bag. Believe it or not you can't go away without one or you may find yourself being a bit smelly. Anyway, enough rambling and let's get on with the post. Now as you can see I have two toiletry bags. This is because each contains different products for a certain reason. I'll explain a bit more when I talk about each of them but you'll probably understand. The first is my wash bag which I use not just for travelling but in uni as well when I have to walk down the corridor to go and shower. I don't know where this bag is from as it was bought ages ago and it was originally my mum's and it came in a set of two but we lost the other one and I took this one.  1. Timotei shampoo (perfect if you have greasy hair) 2. The Body Shop Raspberry Shower Gel 3. Batman flannel 4. Shower cap 5. Raz

Merry Christmas!

A Break from blogging over Christmas

Hey guys! Now as you can guess from the title of this post is that I'm taking a break from blogging over Christmas. This is mostly because the internet at my house is slow and it can get kind of frustrating. Anyway, I've been doing a lot of uni work these past few weeks which has made me stressed and I just kind of want to relax and take a break from writing posts. I hope you don't mind and can understand. I'll be back next week or the week after hopefully. I just wanted to let you guys know just in case you kept coming back to this blog and not finding a new post. Anyway, I hope you all have a great Christmas or whatever it is you celebrate this time of year and I'll see you soon. Bye guys! I love you all. Megan x

Where have I been + December Photo Challenge Fail

Hey guys! So as you may have noticed I haven't been very active on this blog recently. Basically I've been really busy and tired to blog. Assessment deadlines are coming up and I've been working on them. Also I've been travelling. I visited my brother on Tuesday and stayed there until Thursday. On Friday I went to a Christmas party. I know it's not really an excuse but when I haven't been doing all those things I mentioned, I've just been having some me time and time to myself to watch YouTube videos and just chilling out. Anyway, I've also been very ill recently but I thought about my blog and thought I better tell you where I've been as I know some of you read this blog. With regards to the December Photo Challenge, I think I'm going to stop doing it just because it's a photo and then I have to talk about it and honestly I've lost the motivation to find or take photos for it. I'm sorry if you were enjoying pos

December Photo Challenge Day 7 - Pearl Harbor

Image
So today's photo is a little sad but here it is. I'm not going to lie. I was a little confused when I saw the world Pearl Habour on it. I know what happened there but I was like why is it in this photo challenge. So I googled it and it turns out that it happened on this day. I find war and bombing really sad. I don't know if you've been hearing about what's been happening in the UK about whether or not to bomb Syria. I completely disagreed with this as I don't believe they should fight violence with violence. I'm not sympathising with terrorism but I'm just thinking of all the innocent people like children that have done nothing wrong are going to be frightened or even worse killed because of the bombing. It's just sad. I don't mean to bring politics into this and this will be the only time I talk about this in this blog because I don't want to bring anyone down as that's not what this blog is all about. Anyway, that

December Photo Challenge Day 6 - Fav Vacation

Image
So this is a little throwback for me today but here it is. My favourite vacation was last year when I went to New York with my mum. I literally had the most amazing time there. I loved every minute of it. The sights. The sounds. It was amazing. I did everything. I went up the Empire State building. Saw the statue of liberty. Walked around Central Park. I even went to see Mamma Mia on broadway. I hope to go there again and as I'm such a musical fan I'll be watching as many broadway shows as I can. That's my dream. I also want to go there for Christmas and New Year. I hope one day I could maybe live there, but who knows. Maybe 20-30 years I could be. You never know what the future brings. Anyway, that's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another December Photo.  Bye guys! I love you all! Megan x

December Photo Challenge Day 5 - Penguins

Image
Hey guys! So this is the fifth photo of December. This is my little penguin purse thing. I bought this ages ago from New Look and I don't actually use it to keep my money in because it actually all falls. I keep my keys in here because this way it's easier for me to find my keys in my bag and that way I know there not at the bottom of my bag. I also find this little penguin purse cute. Anyway, that's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another December Photo Challenge. Bye guys! I love you all! Megan x

Tips on how to be productive and do assignments

Today was probably a very productive day. I have been procrastinating doing assignments until the week before they're due in. Yesterday I kind of realised this and thought I better get myself into gear and actually do them. Anyway, I kind of did a little bit of research on how to be productive yesterday and because of all the tips and tricks I found it made me more productive today. Now, I'm going to share with you all the tips I found that were very helpful and also tips I discovered myself while doing an essay for 6 hours straight. 1. Go to bed early and wake up early I know it's the weekend but this really does help. If you go to bed early, you'll have more sleep and this actually helps because you'll be less tired when you wake up in the morning. Also waking up early means you have more time in the day. Seriously, wake up at 8am. Have a few moments to yourself before you get out of bed to think of all the things you need to get done. After that get up and

December Photo Challenge Day 4 - Christmas Card

Image
Hey guys! So this is the fourth picture of the December photo challenge. I bought these cute little cards to give to my hall mates. I got them from the 99p store. I think they're really cute and nice little cards. I remember back when I was in primary school it was a tradition that every year in December all my class mates gave each other little Christmas cards like these. It wasn't really a tradition but everybody just did it. It was nice actually and you felt loved if you got a few cards.  Anyway, that's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another photo. Bye guys! I love you all! Megan x

The 100th Post

Image
Hey guys! So after having this blog for over a year and a half I have now reached my 100th post. I thought I would take an opportunity to thank all the people that read my blog. I know I'm not some big blogger with thousands of readers but I don't really mind about that. I'm not writing posts just for views or comments. I'm just writing it because I like to write and I feel like this improving my writing in some way. I also hope that it's helping some people with some tips or advice about something. Now I know that nobody comments on any of my posts and that's fine with me. I read blog posts and don't comment on them. But I know that people are reading my posts from looking at the views especially after I make an update on Twitter saying I've written a post I can see at least over 10 people have read it.  Anyway, thank you to all of you who have read my blog. Whether your new to this blog or have been reading this blog for a while. Thank

December Photo Challenge Day 3 - Favourite Holiday Movie

Image
I have so many favourite holiday movies. They're all so good but I have to say a classic and one that I would watch every year with my family and never fails to make me smile is.. Home Alone. I love this film it's funny and a Christmas classic. I also like the sequel. I've never seen the other ones after that because it's not the same actors.  Of course I love other Christmas films like Elf and a Christmas Carol but this one is my absolute favourite and as you can tell it's on Netflix. Anyway, that's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another photo. Bye guys. I love you all. Megan x

December Photo Challenge Day 2 - Outdoors

Image
So the second photo of this challenge is outdoors. Here's the photo I took. This is the view from my window. As you may be able to tell it's night time and it's also raining. I like the view from my window because it's not boring and you can see most of the halls surrounding the centre of campus. It's quite nice during the day but also nice during the night. Anyway, that's all from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with another photo. Bye guys! I love you all! Megan x

December Photo Challenge Day 1 - Christmas Tree

Image
So it's officially December which can mean it's nearly Christmas. Yay! As you know I'm doing this photo challenge where I'll be posting a photo everyday on my blog so you can hear from me everyday. As well as the photo I'll be writing a little bit and also I'll be posting twice a week on my blog. I'm not going to set certain days in which these two posts will be up, but just know they'll be up. Anyway, on with the first photo. So the first photo of the month is Christmas tree. Now being a student I can't afford a big Christmas tree and also having a big Christmas tree in my bedroom would be an inconvenience to me. As you know I bought this tree the other day and I got it from the 99p store. I just put it on my windowsill and decorated it with tinsel. Now it makes my room feel Christmassy.  I also only have over two weeks left until Christmas break. However, I do have five assignments due in those two weeks so I'm probably going t

End of November 2015

Hey guys! So it's the end of November which can only mean one thing.  25 days until Christmas! I'm so excited and I've actually done all my Christmas shopping for my family already. They are all wrapped and ready to go. I can't wait to open my advent calender tomorrow. I love this time of year and the build up to Christmas. Wearing Christmas jumpers. Listening to Christmas carols. Hot chocolate. Party food. I love it so much. Anyway, as you may have just seen I'm planning on continuing to post every day on my blog by doing a December photo challenge. I thought it will be fun and I'm planning on also making a blog post twice a week. I'll try to anyway. I've actually got assessment deadlines coming up to. Oh well. At least I have Christmas to look forward too. Anyway, that's it from me today. I'll be back tomorrow with the first photo of the December Photo Challenge.  Bye guys! I love you all. Mega

December Photo Challenge 2015

Image
Hey guys! As I like the idea of posting everyday I've decided I'm going to do a December Photo Challenge where I have to post a photo everyday until the end of December.  Here is the photo challenge I found. I did not create this myself but I thought it would be fun to do. If you're a blogger and have run out of ideas, do a December photo challenge. You don't have to do this particular one. You can search for others or create your own. Beside this photo challenge I will be posting other blog posts twice a week.  To get updates on when I make a post you can follow me on Blogloving by clicking the link here:  https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/megan-time-14514819 Or you can follow my Twitter where I always announce when a new post is up by clicking on this link: https://twitter.com/MeganIvyT Feel free to also follow my instagram: @MeganIvyT Anyway, that's it from me. I'll be back tomorrow with the first photo of December. Plus

What I ate today + Christmas Decorations Haul

Image
Breakfast: For breakfast I decided to make a bacon bagel. It was really quick and easy to do. I just fried the bacon and put the bagel in the toaster. It was delicious. Bacon is a great thing to have in your fridge if you're a student. I also had a gingerbread latte as I was in the festive mood and it's so nice. Now, I didn't really eat anything for lunch because I had a late breakfast today. Also, I was out at my local supermarket buying the remaining of Christmas presents I had to get and I also bought some Christmas decorations for my uni room. I bought all of these from the 99p store and I thought they were a bargain. The Chritmas tree is small but I thought it was cute to sit on my windowsill and it meant I could have a Christmas tree in my room. It was plain at first but I bought some red tinsel which was really long in length so I little bits of it to put on the tree just so it didn't look boring. I then used the remaining tinsel to put

Would You Rather Beauty Tag!

Image
1. Would you rather go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and no make-up? I'd rather nice hair and no make-up. 2. Would you rather shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out? I'd rather shave my eyebrows. At least I can draw in fake ones until they grow back. 3. Would you rather be forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life? I'd rather be forced to shop at only MAC for the rest of my life. 4. Would you rather wear lipgloss/lipliner or 80's perm? I'd rather wear lipgloss/lipliner. 5. Would you rather leave the house with an obvious foundation line or overdone blush? Ooh they're both bad but I'd rather have an obvious foundation line.  6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public? I'd rather wear biker shorts in public. 7. Would you rather have a bad orange-y spray tan or really weird tan lines that can't be covered? I'd rather have really

Pros and cons of moving away for university

Image
Hey guys! As it is November, I have a feeling a lot of you are looking to apply for university. I remember a year ago I was the same. I had an idea what I wanted to do which was advertising and someone told me about a course at the University Of Chester so I just kind of went by what they said and applied there. It was a combined course so I chose to do media studies because I thought it would make sense. Anyway, I'm kind of going off topic but the point is some of you may find a course that's at a university away from home. I also bet some of you thinking about what it might be like moving away from your parents and having to fend for yourself. Let me just tell you. It will be scary at first but most of you are probably already independent and spend most of your time in your bedrooms rather than hanging out with your parents. I was the same. I liked it when I was home alone. I just relied on my mum to do my washing and cook me food sometimes. So it won't be so dif

Student Grocery Haul!

Image
Hey guys! So I went shopping for groceries today and I thought I'd show you what I got just to give some of you ideas of what to get if your student. First off I went to Asda and I kind of do the opposite to what most people do. I go to the frozen section first and then work my way backwards. I do this because I'm trying to cook more rather than microwave things so I look for frozen stuff. Plus it saves me having to walk from one end of the shop to the other for when I need to pay. I always use the self checkout.  Here we go: First I bought some popcorn chicken because I like popcorn chicken and this was only a £1 so I thought that it was a good price. I also know that these won't take that long to cook. I always get these fries because you can put them in the microwave and they also taste really nice. They're really quick and easy to make. It's also good for a snack or with something. I also got a big bag of chicken nuggets

Happy Thanksgiving!

Image
Hey guys! So I do believe it's Thanksgiving today. I don't exactly celebrate it because it's not a big holiday thing in the UK but I still acknowledge it and think of all the things I am thankful for. Anyway, I thought I will share with you all the things I am thankful for Here we go: My family My family are the most important people in my life. Especially my mum, dad and brother. They mean so much to me and have always been supportive of what I do. I feel so lucky to have the family that I do because we have so many great memories and even though my dad and mum don't live together any more, they still care a lot about me and my brother. I'm very thankful to have my older brother because we've done everything together and we've had so many good times. Even though we're older now and live only half an hour away from each other. I can always go and visit him whenever I like. My friends I'm thankful to all the friends I have had in my

Primark Haul

Image
Hey guys! So I went to Chester again the other day and I couldn't resist going into Primark. I bought a few things there so let's get on with this post. The first thing I picked up was this pinkish lipstick that only cost 80p. I thought it was a bargain and I was in need of a new lipstick. I have yet to try it but hopefully it'll do the trick. The next thing I bought was this blusher brush which only costed £1.50. I was in need of a new blusher brush and when I saw this I thought I may as well buy it.  I also bought this little black cross body bag. I thought it would look good on nights out and it was quite cheap too. Next, I bought these black jeggings. I realised I haven't got any black trousers and I thought these will be perfect for nights out. I also like wearing jeggings. Finally, probably one of the best things I ever bought. This Hakuna Matata jumper. I bought this as yesterday the bar was having a Disney theme

The British Tag

Image
Hey guys! So I was looking up some tags I could do for my blog and I found the British Tag. I thought this is relevant to me as I am British and I have lived in the UK for my whole entire life. I also thought it would be fun. Anyway, let's get on with the questions. 1. How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars? 2/3 teas a day and I have two sugars in them. I also like them nice and strong. Not milky. 2. Favourite part of your roast?  Roast potatoes or the Yorkshire puddings. 3. Favourite dunking biscuit? Chocolate Bourbons. I love dipping them in my tea or coffee. 4. Favourite quintessentially British past time? Fish and chips (without the fish part) by the sea or afternoon tea. 5. Favourite word? Presto! 6. Cockney rhyme slang? I don't really know as I don't use cockney rhyme slang. 7. Favourite sweet? Midget gems or toffee bon bons. 8. What would your pub be called?  The Pub 9. No. 1 British person? Emma
